Abstract


Abstract : The aim of this research is to analyze of rice heat pump dryer model performance by determining drying rate and drying efficiency. Variables in the research are air velocity and temperature. Model of heat pump dryer was used to determine drying optimum. Heat source use air heat from condensor with refrigerant R-134a. Optimum drying rate occurs a high velocity (2.5 m/s) during 540 minute at velocity variable. While, optimum drying rate occurs at temperature variable is 210 minute. COPactual at evaporator temperatur 18 oC and 22 oC are 9.97, respectively. Drying efficiency at air velocity variable 1.8 m/s and 2.5 m/s are 50,9% and 60,6%.
