KAJI EKSPERIMENTAL PENGARUH PANJANG TERHADAP LAJU PERPINDAHAN PANAS ALAT PENUKAR PANAS PIPA KONSENTRIK

Abstract


This research analyzed the effect of length to the performance of the concentric pipe heat exchanger in parallel flow and counter flow. Three meter of length in concentric pipe heat exchanger were used, where lubricant SAE 20W-50 flowed in the shell side and water is flowed in the tube side.

The heat exchanger was also analyzed for parallel flow and counter flow of the cold fluid. After testing, the performance of the heat exchanger with each temperature measurement distance, for counter flow heat exchanger shorter theoretic length obtained compared to the parallel flow. The heat transfer coefficient obtained for counter flow in three different temperature distance 1 meter, 2 meter and 3 meter were 166.27 W/m2.K, 128.45 W/m2.K and 128.5 W/m2.K, and for parallel flow 166.29 W/m2.K, 128.5 W/m2.K and 124.52 W/m2.K respectively. The heat exchanger effectiveness obtained from the experiment in three different temperature measurements 1 meter, 2 meter and 3 meter were 5.9 %, 10 % and 14.3 % for counter flow, and for parallel flow 7.2 %. 11.4 % and 13 % respectively.
