KONSERVASI RUMAH PENGUSAHA BATIK DI KAUMAN SURAKARTA
Abstract
Most of the houses of batik enterprenuers in Kauman Solo are multi-use of
residential and workshop. The houses are in need of conservation for their age,
comprehensiveness and composition, scarcity, form, setting, and the degree of alteration. The
appropriate conservation is revitalization and adaptive use, where the original appearance is
to be preserved as the use changes in respond to the newly demand. Conservation management
is to involving common people interested in conservation, the inhabitants, historians,
archeologists.
