PERANAN TATA TAMAN PADA PROSES PENYEMBUHAN PASIEN DI RUMAH SAKIT

Abstract

The study evaluates the use of garden in hospital. The evaluation includes determining whether the existed garden design due to be the part of the healing process, how appropriate the garden design to the patients’ desirability, and whether the garden design provides the alternative of therapy physically, psychologically, and emotionally. The research was conducted in Orthopedic Hospital of Prof. Dr. Soeharso Surakarta, use a Post-Occupancy Evaluation method, ie. the systematical evaluation of building performance after being inhabitated for a certain times. The result shows that the garden does not due to be the part of healing process. The existed garden design does not suitable to the patients’ desire. The conclusion is that the garden design does not provide the alternative of therapy either physically or both of psychologically and emotionally.
