TRANSFORMASI POLA SPASIAL KAMPUNG TRADISIONAL SUNDA STUDI KASUS KAMPUNG NAGA DI JAWA BARAT

Abstract


Cultural changes in a community can be seen from the tranformation of the architectural objects as the artefacts. Kampung Naga, a traditional rural village in West Java maintains their community in living traditionally. The question is how the physical transformation of Kampung Naga can affect the social value? This Research is conducted on the spatial aspect of Kampung Naga, through diachronic approach in the spatial transformation of houses and their surrounding. The result of this research are as follow: (1) Kampung Naga have Formal Spatial pattern that related to its Functional Spacial aspect; (2) the transformation of Functional Spatial pattern of Kampung Naga can be predicted within diachronic analysis of the transformation of its Formal Spatial Pattern. The sacred area has not change, the living areas transform much larger, using profan areas; and the profan areas move to outer ring of the village; (3) Spatial transformation of Kampung Naga shows that the community has a safeguard strategy against the change, there is a will to increasing the boundary of the village while preserving the spatial pattern.
