KEMATIAN METAFISIKA ARSITEKTUR KERATON SURAKARTA DALAM DEKONSTRUKSI MAKNA SIMBOLIK ALUN-ALUN SELATAN KERATON SURAKARTA

Abstract

Symbolism in Javanese culture is considered to promote Javanese architecture,
including the architecture of Keraton Surakarta, which is considered as the centre of Javanese
cosmology. Even, Keraton Surakarta is considered as the transformation of mystic and
symbolic values of Javanese culture, which is considered as the metaphysical of Keraton
Surakarta. This paper has two purposes: firstly, to provide insight into the basic concept of
Keraton Surakarta, which is called the metaphysical of Keraton Surakarta; and secondly, to
provide insight into the traces of the death of the metaphysical of Keraton Surakarta, which is
shown by deconstruction of the symbolic values of Alun-alun Selatan Keraton Surakarta.
