INTEGRATED CIRCUIT AREA IN KULON PROGO WITH SPORT TOURISM CONCEPT

Abstract

Automotive is one of the fields that has experienced rapid development in Yogyakarta, as seen from various communities and workshops with their modification styles, as well as various automotive events that are held routinely every year. The lack of adequate facilities to accommodate automotive activities has resulted in misuse of public facilities such as illegal racing on public roads and so on, making the automotive atmosphere in Yogyakarta viewed as negative. Kulon Progo has indeed been planned by the Indonesian Motor Association, where this circuit will be built on land owned by the sultanate near Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA). The purpose of this study is to develop a design concept for an integrated circuit area to accommodate automotive enthusiasts in channeling their hobbies and talents in motorcycle racing activities and also contests or exhibitions with the theme of Sport Tourism. This study applies a descriptive-qualitative method based on the principles of racing circuits and the concept of Sport Tourism. The application of these principles will be adjusted by considering the design criteria, which include site processing, spatial planning, mass development and appearance, as well as the arrangement of structures and utilities. The result of the research is a concept of Sport Tourism in the integrated circuit area in Kulon Progo.
