Abstract

The symbolism of space arrangement of the Keraton Kasunanan Surakarta contains architectural principles which are in the need for analyses. The discussion aims to collect symbolic meanings of the Keraton, which then be analysed on their space arrangement principles. The research reveals that the building arrangement of the Keraton follows a particular order containing a sense of guidance for people to journey their live towards a perfection of life (symbolic meaning).
