PENGARUH PERUBAHAN FASADE BANGUNAN PADA MEKANISME REVITALISASI KAWASAN HERITAGE STUDI KASUS KAMPUNG BATIK LAWIYAN SURAKARTA

Abstract

Façade is an important aspect for a building perception and memorizing about a
physical product of designing. Revitalization of a heritage zona has a main consequency, that
is various changes of physical aspect of its components including a building, a set of buildings
and street furniture, because of an application the concepts to design. The research observed a
dynamics changes of various old buildings whitin a heritage zona namely Kampung Batik
Lawiyan, and its influence to the mechanism and product of revitalization which has been
carrierd out in that area. Two main methods were applied in this research. Firstly, the Field
observation was carried out for collecting data of existing condition. Secondly, the Visual
Analysis of Facade, by using two parameters, namely components and volume of facade, was
applied for analysis to facade changes. The results of analysis indicate that façade changes of
most of case study buildings has affected to the atmosphere of area. There are two important
reasons of those phenomenon. First reason is the inconsistency changes of facade to the main
concepts of revitalization of area. Second reason is that the most of case study buildings are
located a long the main road withing the area. The most important recommendation of this
research is that the management of dynamics changes of façade to the heritage building and
area has to be included into the Grand Planning of Revitalization of a heritage zona
