Abstract

Piece of batik cloth is an integrated work of art that is beautiful and unique, which makes it part of the heritage. Painted motifs also have forms and distinctive style, which clearly distinguishes batik fabrics with other pictorial cloth. Batik fabric also contains the great philosophies that contain meaningful messages. But over time many do not understand the message. From this need the right tools so that people can understand the philosophy of batik in a way that is easy for example in a building. Issues to be resolved is how the concept of building appearance Desa Wisata Batik is able to show batik philosophy. Approach to the design concept that is deemed appropriate Metaphor Architecture approach. The method used is to move the existing concept of physical design (form) and non-physical (concept and philosophy) of the batik design work toward a building design Desa Wisata Batik. Application of Metaphor Architecture in Desa Wisata Batik is located on the site arrangement, form arrangement, and the building shell.
