Optimalisasi Heat Input Pengelasan Gmaw Baja A36 Melalui Pemeriksaan Hasil Las
Abstract
Welding inspection performed on post-weld construction aims to guarantee the quality of the weld. Inspection with NDT (non destructive test) is used to determine the damages / defects on the surface and on the inside of the weld. This research aims to optimize the heat input welding through NDT testing, so getting information the quality of the weld intactly. Optimization of heat input welding is done by changing the welding speed of the welding process with constant voltage and current so getting heat input of 678 J / mm to 1001 J / mm. NDT testing is conducted by visual observation, dye penetrant testing and radiographic test. The results showed that high heat input (1001 J / mm) tend to make the weld bead becomes concave, and low heat input (678 J / mm) tend to make less penetration. NDT test results conclude that heat input welding of 936 J / mm, 846 J / mm and 756 J / mm meet the acceptance criteria of the standard AWS-D1.1.
