SIMULASI NUMERIK KONVEKSI ALAMI DALAM KOTAK 2D DENGAN VARIASI KEMIRINGAN DENGAN METODE BEDA HINGGA
Abstract
Numerical simulation of natural convection in 2D cavity with variations of inclination done to know the phenomenon of fluid flow profile, distribution of temperature and pressure. Simulation done by solving governing equations of natural convection with Bousinesq approximations consists of continuity equation, Navier Stokes equations, and energy equation using finite different approximation. For solving the governing equations done by ADI method for calculation momentum equation of x and y direction without enclose pressure unsure to get temporary velocity (u* and v*). Then pressure calculated by Line Gauss Seidel Iteration method, and used to looking for true u and v value. Energy equation that contain temperature also solved by ADI method. Simulation’s result at Ra 106 with aspect ratio 1 : 2 show Benard Convection on 0o inclination (heated from bottom), and on 180o inclination (heated from top) convection heat transfer not occur. Thermal distribution and velocity vector on different inclination showing buoyancy force direct on natural convection in 2D cavity.
